Sources
- Totals, active counts, status counts and country counts:
api.gleif.org/api/v1/lei-recordswith pagination metadata used for counts. - Month-to-date and seven-day issuance: the same endpoint filtered on
registration.initialRegistrationDate. - Annual issuance series, 2014 to 2025: GLEIF published annual statistics. This is the only series not read live.

Refresh cadence
Live queries are cached for one hour, country rankings for four hours. The refresh date shown at the top of the page reflects the most recent successful read.
Definitions
- Issued
- The registration is current, renewed within the last twelve months and certified by a Local Operating Unit.
- Lapsed
- The annual renewal and data revalidation were not completed by the renewal date. The record remains searchable but is not certified as current.
- Retired
- The entity has ceased to operate, for example through dissolution or merger, and the record is closed.
- Annulled
- The registration was issued in error and has been withdrawn. Annulled records are excluded from the status table above.
